New York, NY (May 22, 2013)—Plácido Domingo has released his first pop album in more than 20 years, Songs, and worked on the Sony Music release in studios around the world with 11-time Grammy-winning producer Rafa Sardina (Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Rodrigo y Gabriela).

The album includes duets with Josh Groban, Susan Boyle, Harry Connick Jr., Katherine Jenkins, Chris Botti, Megan Hilty, Zaz and Plácido Domingo Jr, with songs ranging from the Mexican 1940s classic ‘Bésame mucho,’ ‘Eternally’ from the Charlie Chaplin film Limelight, the Jacques Brel classic ‘Chanson des vieux amants, Parla più piano’ from The Godfather, ‘Come What May’ from the film Moulin Rouge, Spanish-language hit ‘Celos (Jealousie)’ to Shania Twain’s hit, ‘From This Moment On.’

“We recorded the album in NY, London and LA—including my studio, After Hours—with a truly talented cast of musicians,” Sardina said. “Plácido’s legendary voice is truly a joy to work with. His performance makes this a truly timeless album with an international appeal crossing barriers of language and genre.”

Sardina’s studio, After Hours, is located in Woodland Hills, CA, designed from scratch by Sardina, and offers an SSL 48-channel Duality console with JBL LSR speakers, InnerTUBE Audio Atomic Squeeze Box and an Antelope Audio OCV-X. The studio also has a large collection of vintage microphones, including Neumann U47s, AKG C12s, Sennheiser 441s, JZ Microphones and more.
