SE ELECTRONICS RUPERT NEVE SIGNATURE SERIES
March 2008—SE Electronics (www.seelectronics.com ) SE Electronics announced a range of Rupert Neve Signature Series mics under the SE name. Due to ship late summer, the first entry is an active ribbon design using discrete circuits and custom transformers designed by Mr. Rupert Neve. Following the new ribbon will be a large-diaphragm tube mic and a solid-state condenser model, with all three mics sharing a look combining retro with modern industrial chic.

SE ELECTRONICS CONDENSER MIC
November 2006—SE Electronics showed a clever dual-output condenser mic at AES that works via an XLR or through a USB port that powers the mic and connects to your DAW. It also has a headphone out with a knob that lets users choose the direct vs. mix output to the cans for zero latency monitoring.

October 2006—sE Electronics’ Titan is a tranformerless, multipattern, Class-A FET condenser. It uses the company’s specially developed center-terminated titanium-diaphragm capsule, providing a frequency characteristic with enhanced clarity, detail and transient response. A better transient response means clear high frequencies with less distortion and a tighter LF response. Titan features a -10dB pad and LF roll-off switch, and is excellent for vocal recording, acoustic instruments, percussion and broadcast use.

This “portable vocal booth” — which comprises an advanced composite wall positioned behind any microphone, held by a variable position stand clamp (included) — allows the user to record live sources with reduced room ambience. Intended to help obtain a dry vocal or instrument recording, it’s especially useful in studios that don’t have proper acoustic treatment, but it can also be helpful for recording takes in control rooms, where the performer also has to operate the recorder, or in live or rehearsal studios. March 2004—SE Electronics showed several unique entries at Winter
NAMM: Gemini is a large-diaphragm cardioid studio condenser with
dual-tube (12AU7 and 12AX7) electronics; and Icis has a superlarge 35mm
(1.5-inch) cardioid capsule paired with tube electronics. Both mics
include flight case, shockmount and cables.

October 2003—Modeled after the legendary mic capsules that have

SE ELECTRONICS (TBK) Z-5600
October 2002—This studio tube condenser has a 24-carat-gold
sputtered diaphragm that’s increased from a standard 1 inch to a
superlarge 1.07 inches. This results in a fatter bottom-end response
and a higher sensitivity. The Z-5600 uses a replaceable 12AT7 tube
circuit with very low self-noise. Features include a nine-position
polar pattern selector on its custom power supply, allowing users to
switch gradually between the omni, cardioid and figure-8 patterns,
providing superior control in any recording environment. Includes power

which features a 12AT7 tube, a 1.07-inch diaphragm and a nine-point

sound of a vintage tube mic, the Z5600 retails at $899. Other mics in
the Z Series line include the Z1100, Z2200, Z3300 Class-A FET and the
