Sennheiser (Old Lyme, Conn.) has unveiled a new Internet site devoted solely to its new guidePORT wireless visitor information system. Visitors to www.guideport.com can learn about the unique features of a completely wireless digital audio system that allows visitors to museums, theme parks, zoos, botanical gardens and historic sites to hear pre-recorded and live audio.

The site provides an easily understandable and interactive explanation of how guidePORT works via sample configuration, technical specifications, downloadable brochures and reviews of installations in Europe and Mexico. Sennheiser recently unveiled the first U.S. guidePORT installation at the Kansas International Museum (Topeka, Kan.), which is using the system’s discreet wireless antennas and identifier units in the exhibit areas to allow cell-transmitter units to upload digital audio files to wearable receiver/headphone units for the museum’s current exhibit of artifacts from the Russian Czars.
