O'Brien also recently mixed Dave Navarro's (formerly of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction) new solo album, which is slated for release on Clean Slate Records. Also at Southern Tracks, Zack de la Rocha (formerly of Rage Against the Machine) produced a remixed version of "B.O.B." by OutKast. The session was engineered by Nick DiDia, Williams and assistant engineer Egsieker...Over at Nickel and Dime Recording Studios (Avondale Estates, GA), Shawn Mullins was in to co-produce local artist Cornbread with producer/engineer Don McCollister. Also in at Track Records, Bad Azz mixed a new song in the studio's SSL room with producer Devante and engineers Dave Young and Steve Lu...At Skip Saylor Recording (Los Angeles), producer Claudio Cueni was in working on an upcoming Tupac Shakur al-bum for Interscope Records. Chris Puram and assistant Ian Blanch helped with the mixing. Coolio and producer Vic Conception and Lew Laing also spent some time at Skip Saylor working on an upcoming release for Crystal Dragon Entertainment. Engineer Frank Wolf also mixed a track by Jennifer Warnes with Dixon assisting...Moving out to Studio City, DNA Mastering president/engineer Davis Donnely recently finished adding the final layer of gloss to the soundtrack for Almost Famous. Local band Free Coke for Supermodels cut their album with engineer Blair Calibaba...At Studio 880 (Oakland, CA), Hollywood Records artist Simon Says stopped in to work on tracks for their forthcoming album with producer/engineer Mark Needham; Tone was in to assist. SOUTHWESTColorado Sound Studios (Westminster, CO) recently hosted Jive Records recording artists 'N Sync when they stopped by the studio along with producer Hex Hector. The group recorded vocals for a club mix of the song, "This I Promise You." Hector was joined in the studio by programmer Desi Caruso and engineers Steve Avedis and Lorne Bregitzer...At Rube's Joint (Dallas) the hip hop collective known as Hydroponic Sound System finished their debut album for Sound Evolution Records. The effort was produced by Skinny Fresh and Rube.

Sony Music Studios (New York City) has added a second Sony Oxford console. The new 96-input desk will be housed in Studio G, a new suite that will cater to a plethora of multimedia projects...Planet 3 Productions (San Francisco) has purchased and installed a Trident MTA 980 in their main tracking room... Circa Music (Dublin, OH) has opened a new two-room surround production studio, which will house both Circa and Radio Midwives, a company that aids in sound production for commercials. The new Pilchner Schoustal-designed facility boasts two 64-track surround audio suites, six Foley pits and an 11-foot projection screen.
