Shure Helps to Avoid DTV Interference

With the ability to quickly recommend optimal systems and frequencies for any location in the U.S., Shure's new wireless frequency finder is now available

With the ability to quickly recommend optimal systems and frequencies for any location in the U.S., Shure’s new wireless frequency finder is now available by logging onto www.shure.com/frequency.

The expanded database can be accessed by merely typing in either a zip code or city name. Search returns subsequently provide a listing of analog and active or planned DTV channels operating within the requested location, as well as the optimal Shure frequencies to use to avoid frequency conflicts.

“Right now, there are over 900 DTV stations broadcasting around the country,” said applications engineer Rick Waller, a member of the Shure team that is responsible for bringing the latest round of frequency-finding upgrades to the site. “But with this tool, audio professionals have more insurance than before that their wireless systems will perform at peak levels, regardless of where they may find themselves.”

Along with its wireless frequency finder news, Shure also announced that it has extended its DTV frequency exchange period from 90 days to one year.
