Silverline, Sanctuary To Release 140 DVD-Audio Titles

Silverline Records (Los Angeles) has entered into a longterm licensing deal with Sanctuary Records to release 140 DVD-Audio titles, including releases from artists such as Bob Marley, Styx, The Kinks, Joey Ramone, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Widespread Panic, Sex Pistols and Megadeth, beginning in April 2002.

Silverline was the first label to produce and release a DVD-Audio title, the Grammy-nominated Swinging For the Fences by Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band. Silverline Records continues to develop, produce and market DVD-Audio with 53 DVD-Audio titles released to date.

John Trickett, chairman of the 5.1 Entertainment Group, said, “[Sanctuary’s] catalog is deep and has a wide range of musical genres with albums from seminal artists. The release of such a large number of DVD-Audio titles will benefit the format, and we are excited to be releasing them.”
