Sound on Sound Recording has announced a strategic alliance withrecording artist/electronic drummer Tony Verderosa’s Thwak! Musicto offer original music for commercials at the recording company.
Through the deal, Thwak! Music has access to Sound on Sound’sresources, including any of the company’s four recording andmixing rooms (video capture, lock-to-picture, 42-inch plasma screens,surround-capable). “Tony’s clients can walk out with videoburned to DVD or Beta tape, plus each studio and lounge is wired for T1Web access for project delivery via FTP or e-mail,” saidChristopher Bubacz, COO of SOS. “Thwak! Music offers Sound onSound an exciting link to Madison Avenue. Our alliance with Tony opensup a new market for us and provides Tony with a solid support networkthat enables him to react quickly to tight agency schedules with allthe tools he needs at his fingertips.”
Thawk! Music at Sound on Sound is outfitted with the latest musicproduction tools, including the Yamaha DTXTREME IIS sampling electronicdrum set, a Yamaha Motif music production synthesizer (which integratesMIDI and audio phrases), Steinberg’s Nuendo DAW and a new YamahaBirch Absolute Nouveau acoustic drum set.
According to Verderosa, “I’m thrilled to be at Sound onSound. It’s a state-of-the-art facility centrally located offTimes Square that can accommodate any type of project from smallerremix-style electronic sessions in Studio D to 30 to 40-piece stringorchestras or rock bands in Studio A. All kinds of spot work can becovered in-house in a very comfortable, client-friendlyenvironment.
“Over the years,” Verderosa continued, “I’verecorded at Sound on Sound, as have many of the artists I represent[including David Mann, Philippe Saisse, Teddy Kumpel, Jamie Myerson,Phil Clendeninn and DJ Josh Byrnes], so it makes perfect sense forThwak! Music to be here, especially given the size and scope ofprojects for 2004.” Verderosa recently completed an AT&Tcampaign and is working on an ongoing Dr. Pepper campaign.
