SoundToys Turns Spotlight on VT

SoundToys has produced a video on the music for new movie "Safety Not Guaranteed," which turns the spotlight on the company's home state, Vermont.

Burlington, VT (July 27, 2012)—SoundToys has produced a video on the music for new movie, Safety Not Guaranteed, which turns the spotlight on the company’s home state, Vermont.

Burlington, VT, where SoundToys is based, enjoyed a creative “perfect storm” recently with the release of the new movie, Safety Not Guaranteed, about a classified ad seeking a companion for time travel that inspired three Seattle magazine employees to investigate the story behind it. Vermont-based Colin Trevorrow directed the movie.

The original score was composed by Ryan Miller, and mixed and engineered by Jared Slomoff, in Vermont, with Vermont players, in Vermont studios. Miller and Slomoff also happen to be SoundToys users, and even borrowed some of SoundToys’ classic gear collection to work on the tracks.

The pair chatted with SoundToys owner/designer Ken Bogdanowicz about some of the workflow and mindset behind their contributions for a behind-the-scenes video. Gear spotters might spy some cool pieces in the background.
