Solid State Logic introduced the Version 1.5 software upgrade forits C100 Digital Broadcast Console. Two new security features enhancethe operation of the console and provide the robust system redundancynecessary in live broadcast operations.
A new DSP redundancy system adds to the C100’s uniqueself-healing DSP capabilities to provide a comprehensive securitysolution. Broadcast security is further enhanced by the C100’sunique control-surface management, which provides operational securityfor the most vulnerable part of any broadcast console. Using a simplegraphical interface, the operator is able to reconfigure the controlsurface without audio interruption.
A new remote-bay option allows the console processing to be splitacross two control surfaces, providing additional flexibility insituations with restricted space, or where two distinct controlsections are required. Enhanced networking and integrationcapabilities, including third-party router integration, allowinformation interchange between an external router and theconsole’s built-in digital router.
“The C100 was designed to meet the needs of today’sbroadcaster as the industry pushes to all-digital,” commented SSLdirector of product marketing, Niall Feldman. “We have added auser-defined redundancy option for the DSP cards in the CPU core and aredundancy option for the surface of the console, as well. Bothfeatures give the broadcaster fail-safe operation capabilities, particularly critical for live applications.”
