Cleveland, OH (April 4, 2020)—Joel Stoner, creator of the long-running recording studio management software Studio Suite, has stepped down from involvement with the brand’s current owner, Adatasol Inc.

Stoner first conceived the software in the mid-1990s while working as a freelance music recording engineer/mixer in Los Angeles and launched the product in 1997 as the first product of his company AlterMedia. The software looked after bookings, equipment, clients, staff, invoices, tapes and track sheets. Today, it is used in more than 55 countries worldwide to track content creation.

In 2019, Stoner sold Studio Suite to Adatasol Inc., a software development company based in Cleveland, Ohio. As part of the transition, he continued with the company for one year to guide, consult, and train the new team on both the software and the audio industry as well. The arrangement concluded as of March 31, 2020.

“I have an odd range of emotions, a mixture of pride, sadness, and happiness all at once,” he said, of leaving the software behind after 23 years. “What an interesting time to be looking at a re-birth! Seems the universe had the same idea, not just for me, but for just about everyone. Let’s all use this time to catch up on long delayed projects, read, rest, rehabilitate, and recharge for our next adventures.”
