Studio Seeks Help Saving Neve Desk

Seattle’s London Bridge Studios is seeking the help of fellow musicians, gear lovers, historians, and more through a Indiegogo campaign ending this weekend that aims to restore its hand-built 1970s vintage Neve console.

Seattle, WA (April 17, 2014)—Seattle’s London Bridge Studios is seeking the help of fellow musicians, gear lovers, historians, and more through a Indiegogo campaign ending this weekend that aims to restore its hand-built 1970s vintage Neve console.

Since the studio’s founding in 1989, it has hosted recording sessions with acts like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, and 3 Doors Down. From 2007 to now, the studio has seen a resurgence, too, recording albums by OneRepublic, Anberlin, Fleet Foxes, and Death Cab For Cutie.

At the heart of the studio is the Neve 8048 console, which is in need of extensive restoration. “Seattle has always been a booming hub for music and the arts, and London Bridge has been at the epicenter since the late 80’s and early 90’s. With your assistance, you can help give the next Pearl Jam, Macklemore, or Nirvana an affordable place to flourish and thrive, while preserving an incredible piece of Rock & Roll history for decades to come,” wrote the team behind the campaign.

The campaign has set a goal of $75,000 to raise by April 19, 2014. Incentives for backing the project include engraving donors’ names and hometowns onto a plexiglass frame on the console ($250 minimum backing), along with a voucher for a tour of the studio once the console is restored. Other incentive include a Limited Edition T-Shirt ($35 backing), a tour and shirt combo ($150 backing), signed materials ($250 backing), or studio time with a House Engineer ($650) or Producer ($850).
