Nashville, TN (July 8, 2015)—The biggest pro audio story in Nashville the last few years has arguably been the mammoth grassroots effort to save RCA Studio A—and Music Row at large—from the clutches of redevelopers. But how did it happen, and what’s next? Those are just some of the topics that will be covered Thursday at Summer NAMM in Nashville, at the “Saving Historic RCA Studio A” panel.
The panel will be held inside the Summer NAMM Show at the Nashville Music City Center in the TEC Tracks booth (#354), Thursday, July 9, 2015, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Moderator Beverly Keel—Chair of the Recording Industry department at MTSU, veteran music journalist, and former record company executive—will explore the subject with Dave Cobb (musician, producer: Shooter Jennings, Jamey Johnson, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton); Mike Kopp (Partner-Manager, All Good Factory, a full-service artist management company based in Nashville, TN); Sharon Corbitt-House (VP Studio Operations/Grand Victor Sound/aka RCA Studio A, Partner-Manager All Good Factory); Jim Lauderdale (multi-Grammy award-winning American country, bluegrass and Americana singer-songwriter).

Hear how a fight to save a studio became a movement to save Nashville’s threatened music culture. Panelists will offer behind the scenes insight into how the movement to save historic RCA Studio A began as a call to action on social media, how it unfolded into an effort to preserve Nashville’s music culture, and how it continues to resonate today with people from all walks of life around the globe.
