Sweetwater and pureMix.net have announced a new Audio Mixing Contest, where participants must submit an original mixed version of Liza Colby’s song, ‘Oh Baby.’ The winners will receive prizes provided by Dangerous Music, Focal Professional, Universal Audio, Vovox and Sweetwater, valued at $18,000 total.

New York, NY (May 6, 2013)—Sweetwater and pureMix.net have announced a new Audio Mixing Contest, where participants must submit an original mixed version of Liza Colby’s song, ‘Oh Baby.’ The winners will receive prizes provided by Dangerous Music, Focal Professional, Universal Audio, Vovox and Sweetwater, valued at $18,000 total.

Participants can register on the pureMIX website, www.puremix.net/gearfestmixingcontest. Once registered, they can download the raw tracks from Liza Colby’s song and create a mix. Winners will be chosen based on the best-sounding version of the song. The full instructions for the contest can also be found at this site.

The contest is completely platform independent: any DAW, any platform is welcome. The pureMix team and Fab Dupont will pick out the 16 winners for the 16 prizes. Judges will focus on mixing skills and “taste” to pick the winners, not what equipment was used.

The mixing challenge runs until June 1, 2013. Winners will be announced at Sweetwater’s GearFest 2013 on June 21st, contacted via email and announced on pureMix.net homepage.

The contest is free, and sponsored by Dangerous Music, Focal Professional, Universal Audio, Blue Microphones, Presonus, Lauten Audio, Vovox and Sweetwater.
