Trivers/Myers Music Inc.has finished recording the music for QwestCommunications, which featured the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and wererecorded “in the round” at Boettcher Hall in Denver. The orchestraprovided its services to Denver-based Qwest, with the musicalarrangements composed and produced by Trivers/Myers of Los Angeles.

Boettcher Hall’s “in the round” configuration provided the perfectlocation for the 60-piece orchestra. The musicians were seated on theback two-thirds of the circular wooden stage with audience seatingbehind and in front of the orchestra. The recording sessions wereengineered by Judy Clapp using the Toy Box remote truck from AudioConsultants; David Soran, owner of Audio Consultants handled theon-site sound recording and the five miles of sound cables necessary tohook up truck and stage.

“This recording session was challenging from beginning to end, andthe musical result was outstanding,” said composer JohnTrivers. “Sometimes, unexpected technical problems can affect thequality of the music, but in this case, everything worked in ourfavor.” The compositions recorded were used in four TV commercialsoundtracks: “On Your Terms” and “There for You,” as well as aneight-minute documentary film.
