WildSound Builds WSDG Mix Room

WildSound Studios owners Mike Idioma and Tony Tuviera recently called on WSDG - Walters-Storyk Design Group to create a Dolby Atmos audio mixing studio in Quezon City’s Sampaguita Pictures Compound.

Manila, Philippines (September 14, 2016)—WildSound Studios owners Mike Idioma and Tony Tuviera recently called on WSDG – Walters-Storyk Design Group to create a Dolby Atmos audio mixing studio in Quezon City’s Sampaguita Pictures Compound.

WSDG Brazil partner Renato Cipriano met with Idioma to discuss the new studio. The WildSound team envisioned a spacious mixing theater with a large screen, multi-format projection, an expansive mixing desk, comfortable seating and impeccable acoustics. The 640-square-foot room with an 11-foot high ceiling mixing room also needed an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.

The room includes seven banks of Dolby-certified Atmos speakers, set in groupings of four each on the side and rear walls plus two ceiling-mounted quartet banks. The 32-fader Avid Icon D-Control ES mixing desk is paired with a 240-inch diagonal perforated screen. The plush red fabric client couch is set on a 3-inch-high platform in front of the desk and well within the mixing area sweet spot. WildSound also offers sound effect design, Foley, localization and sync services.

“WildSound is considered as one of the Philippines’ most creative and technically advanced sound recording and mixing companies,” Cipriano remarked. “Their credits include numerous award-winning films. This new Dolby Atmos mixing suite represents an important step in their continuing growth. WSDG is delighted to have helped them create this impeccable room, and we are currently developing TVJ Stage, a second—and larger—1,480-sq.-ft. film mixing suite to accommodate their growing client base.”

“We had an outstanding experience with WSDG,” Idioma concludes. “Their design met all our requirements for a handsome room with extraordinary acoustics. Our initial broadcast and cinema clients have been extremely pleased with the work they’ve mixed here, and word is spreading throughout the Philippines that we have one, if not the best, of the best facilities in the country.”
