At a gala reception, Yamaha celebrated the launch of its 02R96 digital console (spotlighted in the May 2002 Mix) by donating a classic 02R to the Country Music Hall of Fame’s music technology collection. Shown left to right: Yamaha’s John Schauer, CMHF curator Mark Medley, producer/songwriter Tommy Sims, producer Brian Ahern, and Yamaha’s Rick Young and Wayne Hrabak. Sims and Ahern spoke about their use of the 02R on projects for artists such as Emmylou Harris, CeCe Winans and Bonnie Raitt.
