Mix Presents Sound for Film: And the Award Goes To…

The Hateful Eight

Who else but Quentin Tarentino to bring back the first wide release 70mm, 6-channel print in 20 years, blowing out his 19th century Wyoming landscape across a huge screen. There will be fights and gunshots and wagon wheels and old-fashioned barroom brawling, amid a landscape marked by wind and weather. It should be a real sound extravaganza, especially considering his history with the core sound team of Wylie Stateman supervising and Mike Minkler mixing. Throw in a retro-classic score by Ennio Morricone and you have a Western that will pulse throughout the nearly three-hour run time.
