Audio-Technica announced a new addition to its 20 Series line of microphones with the addition of the AT2041SP Studio Pack (pictured). Among other uses, it for musicians, engineers and producers in home and project studios, as well as for professional use in commercial studios.

The new AT2041SP Studio Pack combines the AT2020 side-address condenser microphone with the newly premiered AT2021 small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone. The AT2020 is aimed at capturing vocals as well as a wide range of instrumental applications, while the AT2021 excels at instrument recording including acoustic guitars, drum overheads, pianos and group vocals.

The new AT2021 small-diaphragm cardioid condenser mic has been designed for capturing guitars, overheads, pianos and more.
Features include extended response for smooth natural sonics and a special low-mass element for superb transient response, and the cardioid polar pattern reduces off-axis pickup of unwanted sound, while focusing on the desired source. The AT2021 is characterized by a broad, flat frequency response from 30–20,000 Hz, 145 dB maximum SPL handling and an extreme 126 dB dynamic range.

In addition, the AT2020’s proprietary design features a custom-engineered low-mass diaphragm that provides extended frequency response plus the ability to handle extremely high SPLs. A rugged side-address condenser with a fixed cardioid polar pattern, the AT2020 allows for maximum isolation. With a flat, extended frequency response (20–20,000 Hz), high SPL handling capability (144 dB) and a wide dynamic range (124 dB), the AT2020 has been tailored for a very smooth, natural sound

Gary Boss, Audio-Technica marketing director, stated, “The AT2041SP Studio Pack is aimed to provide a versatile solution for both home and project studio applications. With the AT2041SP, musicians, engineers and producers have a choice of microphones that will cover a broad range of sonic needs, and at a very affordable price.”

The AT2041SP has a U.S. MSRP of $249.
