AMD Opteron Processors Capture Live Audio at 78th Annual Academy Awards

Remote Recording of New York City recorded live orchestral performances at the recent 78th Annual Academy Awards using a Dual-Core AMD Opteron processor–based digital audio workstation from ADK Pro Audio running Steinberg Nuendo in a Windows XP Pro operating system. Remote Recording has recorded and archived live orchestral performances at the Academy Awards for the past 15 years. This year marks the first time that a computer was relied upon instead of tape for this purpose.

“System reliability is the utmost concern,” says David Hewitt, president of Remote Recording. “We have complete faith in our rock-solid AMD64-based workstation.”
