ART Introduces AutoTune-Pre Tube Preamp

Applied Research & Technology (ART) in Niagara Falls, N.Y., introduces Auto-TunePre ($289 MSRP), a new Class-A tube preamp with integrated Antares Auto-Tune processing in a compact package designed for studio or stage. Auto-TunePre makes it possible for musicians performing live to easily add high quality Antares pitch processing without the complexity and cost of an external computer and software.

The Auto-Tune Pre EFX Section of the product is designed to have a user interface and functionality that is similar to Antares’ Auto-Tune EFX Plug-In. Users can select the Key, Scale and EFX type; individual notes can be toggled on or off using the key pads for greater customization; and edits can be stored in one of five presets that are accessible via an optional footswitch.

The unit’s front end is an ultra low noise discrete microphone preamp that is said to have an extremely flat and wide frequency response and handles a wide range of input signal levels with a minimum of coloration. A high quality hand selected 12AX7A tube circuit adds warmth to the signal path. Output level is selectable between +4/-10.

An insert jack allows users to add external processing between the preamp and Auto-Tune EFX section. The ΒΌ-inch Footswitch jack on the rear panel allows remote access to the Bypass and Preset functions.
