Ascent Media Group (AMG) in Santa Monica, Calif. has named Jose Royo (pictured) its chief technology officer, responsible for providing the company’s overall vision for technology strategy and overseeing the execution of all technical aspects of AMG’s operating entities. In this role, Royo will head long-term technology planning and partnership efforts, and hold day-to-day responsibility for global IT operations and infrastructure. He will also continue to lead all of the company’s digital services initiatives.
Royo previously served AMG as senior vice president, Digital Services where he was instrumental in developing file-based content management services to aggregate, transform and deliver content for broadband, VOD, mobile and other multi-channel opportunities, and in establishing a technology partnership with HP. In his six-year tenure with AMG, Royo also headed the Digital Media Center and the company’s New Products Group.
