Following strong global sales of its ASP8024 Dual Layer console, British manufacturer Audient in Hampshire, UK, announces ASP4816 (approximately $14,038 plus VAT and delivery charges, depending on prevailing currency exchange rate at the time of purchase). Audient states that the ASP4816 compact console offers the key benefits of the company’s flagship ASP8024 recording console in a smaller profile, and recommends it for production studios and educational facilities.
Due to ship in February 2012, the ASP4816 takes many design cues from the ASP8024, with the same input and monitor design in a smaller frame size. The ASP4816 also includes Audient’s analog circuitry designed by David Dearden.
The main input channels feature Audient’s Class-A preamp and 4-band EQ. The console features 40 faders, 16-bus routing, six auxes, two dedicated cue sends, four stereo returns, a stereo bus compressor and a comprehensive monitor section.
