Audient Announces Mico, Black Clock

UK-based pro audio manufacturer Audient will unveil the Mico 2-channel mic preamp and Black Clock word clock device at the forthcoming Pro Light & Sound show, March 28-31, in Frankfurt, Germany. Black Clock is the fifth product in Audient’s Black Series, a new range of processors.

Mico offers 48-volt phantom power, a gain range of 0 to 60 dBu, three HPF settings (40, 80 and 120 Hz), a three-segment LED level indicator and a polarity switch. Channel 1 has a combination mic/DI input on the front panel and an HMX feature that allows users to add harmonic coloration. Channel 2 has both mic and line inputs on the rear panel. The vari-phase option lets users vary a signal’s phase between 1 and 180 degrees. Mico also offers both AES and S/PDIF coaxial connectors. Sample rates of 48 kHz and 96 kHz are supported internally, and sample rates up to 192 kHz are supported via external word clock.

Black Clock uses the latest Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO) for ultra-low jitter and high-precision clock. It supports sample rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4 and 192 kHz. It has one BNC word clock output and two parallel XLR outputs that send word clock via AES format.
