Audiofile Engineering, creators of professional audio software for Mac OS X and iOS, announce Triumph (on sale for $59.99 through November 16) as a follow-up to the company's Wave Editor audio editing application and a solution for sound design, editing, mastering, and CD layout. Available as an app for Mac OS 10.7.0 or higher (10.7.5 recommended), Audiofile describes Triumph software as an “audio designer,” with a newly redesigned interface, and new features and functionality.

Triumph offers single window and full screen support, with a completely rewritten audio system and improved arrangement and mastering features that are all fully 64-bit. Triumph's method for editing audio, Layers, is similar to image editing in technique, but is specifically tailored for audio. The Layers method creates combinations of sounds and keeps everything live and editable until the final product. The new FHX effects plug-in in Triumph is said to create a more spacious, natural sound stage over headphones.

Additionally, Audiofile Engineering teamed up with iZotope to include iZotope Restore & Restoration as well as the advanced iZotope MBIT+ and 64-bit SRC options for disc burning in Triumph.

Key new features include redesigned Meters that are based on the UI from Audiofile’s Spectre real-time analysis application; Auto Save & Versions that automatically save projects with browse history; multitouch Gestures; full Apple Script Support for complex workflows, automation and interacting with other applications; Actions for a clean, uncluttered interface and intuitive workflow; Effects Groups, which enable users to save a group of Effects including their settings for use on future projects; Effects Automation with a new Shapes feature that can automate the parameters of an effect; high performance scrubbing; hardware output and channel mapping for improved system configuration; full support for iXML; support for Retina displays; and analog simulation.

For mastering, Triumph offers improved layout tools, DDP Version 2, and Red Book CD burning.

Users who purchased Wave Editor Version 1.5 on or after May 1, 2012 may request a license key for Triumph Version 2 at no charge.
