Including Bag End’s new 1,000-watt internal modular amplifier, Minima One, the P-TA5000-R is the powered version of its passive brother the TA5000. The P-TA5000-R is a portable full-range loudspeaker system offering both high fidelity and high efficiency. The new speaker system also features Bag End’s new black durable covering that is twice the thickness of previous models.
“The P-TA5000-R is the only powered, 15-inch Time-Aligned? speaker system on the market today,” said John Marcopulos, sales manager of Bag End. “Its big 15-inch base and mid cone gives it an exceptionally smooth mid-range response, and provides a great deal of sound without the bulk of an 18-inch enclosure.”
“The dramatic clarity, tightness and overall musical sound of Bag End’s Time-Aligned speakers is known throughout the world,” Marcopulos said.
The built-in Minima One amp is more than 80 percent efficient, providing more power to the loudspeaker and creating less heat in the amplifier than conventional designs. Incorporating patented technology, the comparison circuit of the module corrects each individual cycle. On average, every four microseconds, the one-cycle modulator transforms and amplifies the input signal into a natural, pulse width modulation. Switching at 250 kHz with the single-cycle error correction ensures low distortion and high reliability.
In addition, the power-factor corrected AC power input automatically, and continually, adapts to any voltage between 88 and 275 volts, making it easy to power and stable to use in combination with any power grid anywhere in the world.
Standard hardware on the P-TA5000-R includes two recessed handles, a 35mm stand adapter and eight interlocking corners for added ruggedness. Suggested retail price for this system has yet to be announced.
