Recording engineer/mixer and Mix magazine contributing editor Barry Rudolph will conduct a music-mixing seminar at Sam Ash’s Canoga Park, Calif. store on Monday, December 3 at 7 p.m. Entitled “Deconstructing the Mix”, Rudolph will demonstrate step-by-step the mixing process he used in the final mixes of several recent record projects. Mixing inside Pro Tools HD, the primary focus for this tutorial will be Rudolph’s sonic concepts, musical aesthetic and the methods he uses to attain them.
Rudolph’s discography includes engineering and mixing Gold and Platinum certified recordings by artists including Rod Stewart, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hall and Oates, The Corrs, BB Mak, Pat Benatar, Robbie Nevil, Enrique Iglesias, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Mathis, Mick Jagger, Selena, Tony Williams, Levon Helm, John Prine, Keith Moon and the Beach Boys.
