Black Toast Music Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Independent music publisher/production music library Black Toast Music in Chatsworth, Calif., announces its 20th anniversary and music placements in HBO’s True Blood, Showtime’s Dexter, and more. Black Toast Music was founded in l990 by musician/composer/producer Bob Mair (pictured).

A variety of songs from the company’s catalog appear in Season 3 of HBO’s True Blood, as well as in previous seasons. Black Toast Music has also placed music in HBO’s Treme and the animated hit, The Life and Times of Tim. The company states that it regularly contributed songs to the critically acclaimed HBO series The Wire during that program’s entire four-year run.

The company reports that Showtime’s Dexter also uses music from its catalog on a regular basis. The company has also contributed a variety of songs to Dexter since that show’s inception, including those in the Latin and hip-hop genres.

In addition to hit series from HBO and Showtime, Black Toast Music’s regular clients include America’s Next Top Model and The Hills, as well as past reality shows as Run’s House, Daddy’s Girls, High Society and Fly Girls.
