Blue Microphones Appoints Chief Technology Officer

Blue Microphones has appointed Brian Biggott (pictured) as Chief Technology Officer. Biggott will continue to be based out of Blue Microphones’ headquarters in Westlake Village, Calif.

Biggott joined Blue in 2008 in association with Transom Capital Group’s acquisition of the company, and since that time has led Blue’s research and development team through 17 product launches, from concept development to production. As CTO of Blue Microphones, Biggott will continue to lead Blue’s innovative product development for both the consumer and professional markets.

“With his background in small business expansion, passion for the audio industry and exceptional technical expertise, Brian has been an invaluable asset to the Blue team for the past three years,” says John Maier, CEO of Blue Microphones. “Brian’s product development and operational leadership has been key in developing some of our award-winning products, and he continues to drive Blue into new areas by keeping us on the brink of new technologies and platforms.”

Since the acquisition, Biggott has built up a product development team and led the technology strategy behind Blue’s award-winning products, including the Yeti and Yeti Pro, Spark, enCORE series, and more.

Prior to his work at Transom Capital and Blue, Biggott was a management consultant in the Los Angeles office of McKinsey & Company, focused on product development, operational efficiency, and growth strategy with clients in the consumer products, automotive, aerospace, industrial, retail, and private equity spaces. He earned his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the School of Engineering at Stanford University, where he was also a Mayfield Fellow, and also received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Stanford University.

“Formally continuing my work with Blue is a natural next step, having worked closely with the company and development team since the acquisition, developing industry-leading audio products,” Biggott says. “I am very excited to focus on the development of the next generation of advanced audio products for Blue.”
