Cakewalk’s Kinetic ($79), the first retail software product to come out of Cakewalk’s and Roland’s strategic alliance announced last year, allows users to create electronic music, such as hip hop, dance, electronica beats and grooves, on a PC. Kinetic combines a click-and-groove sequencer interface with high-quality instrument sounds, an intuitive interface and hundreds of professionally recorded patterns and ACID-format loops.
Users simply select the instrument and style of music desired and then point and click to begin creating compositions. Users can modify the existing patterns or create their own by experimenting with the included audio loops by the X-MiX producers.
Kinetic can be connected to Cakewalk’s Home Studio or Sonar, or to any Rewire-host application. Users can export standard .WAV files.
