Chris Minto Joins NHT Pro Audio as Director, NHT Pro Division

NHT Pro Audio of Benicia, Calif. confirmed that pro audio industry professional Chris Minto has joined the company as Director, NHT Pro Division. Minto reports to Andy Regan, senior vice president, sales and marketing. Minto is responsible for overseeing all activities pertaining the company’s pro audio speakers and electronics, including product development, sales, marketing and industry outreach.

“Of all the companies catering to the professional audio industry, NHT, in my opinion, is the one best capable of introducing new technologies that raise the bar on performance and value,” Minto says. “NHT built its reputation on products that offer neutral, accurate response, and we’re going to raise that bar several notches when our new models begin shipping this summer.”

“Chris is one of the most creative thinkers out there, and his successful track record is clearly the result of hard work and an unbending loyalty to his customers,” Regan says. “The fact that he started out on the engineering side of the business helps shape his view of what products and features will matter most to the market.”

Prior to joining NHT, Minto served as Miller & Kreisel’s Professional Division director, where he improved overall sales while serving as a liaison to the company’s most prestigious, high-end customers in the pro audio and motion picture industries. Earlier positions included prominent roles with Otari Corporation and Westlake Audio.

Like many pro audio veterans, Minto migrated to the sales and manufacturing side after a successful career as an engineer and producer. He is credited on some of the best-known albums of the ’80s, and ’90s, having worked with artists like Santana, Pat Benatar, Kiss, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Whitesnake and many others.

“My first experience with NHT Pro was in the studio when I worked with a pair of M-100s,” Minto says. “Right away, I was very impressed with their listenability and accuracy. Then, when I heard my first pair of ‘moo’s’ [NHT’s M-00 powered mini-monitor], I was hooked. As much as that model means to the market, we have a few newcomers that will make an even bigger impression. I can’t wait to show them off to my friends in the business,” he said.
