Cinema Audio Society Honors Digidesign ICON, Zaxcom Deva 5.8

On February 16 in Los Angeles, the Cinema Audio Society (CAS) presented Technical Achievement Awards to Digidesign for its ICON console in the category of Post-Production Technologies, and to Zaxcom for its Deva 5.8 hard-disk recorder in the Production Technologies category. The awards were presented at the organization’s 44th annual awards ceremony at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. This is the fourth year that the CAS presented the Technical Achievement Award.

“We’re exceptionally proud to once again be recognized by such a prestigious group as the Cinema Audio Society, an organization of the very top mixers working in TV and film today,” says Digidesign’s director of professional console sales, Rich Nevens, who was also on hand to accept the award. “Receiving the CAS award is a real testament to the ongoing collaboration between our users and the development and test teams at Digidesign. We’re tremendously thankful for the support of our users worldwide and are proud to play a part in their ongoing success.”

“It’s truly an honor to have our Deva 5.8 selected by the CAS as a top-in-class system for audio production,” says Zaxcom president Glenn Sanders. “Because nominations for these awards originate from the members of the Cinema Audio Society, we see this win as a testament to how much audio professionals have come to value our system in real-world applications day in and day out. We extend our sincere thanks for their recognition.”
