Building on the successful launch of its Matrix X five-channel mixer and Matrix Y headphone amp, CME announces the Matrix K USB ($179.99) audio interface and Matrix K FW ($199.99) FireWire audio interface. The Matrix K USB is USB a USB 2 interface that can be expanded to FireWire with the KF400e ($99.99) FireWire expansion board. The compact Matrix K Series interfaces are well suited for Podcasting and mobile recording.
Both Matrix K series units feature professional recording up to 24-bit, 192 kHz resolution and ship with a low-latency ASIO 2.0 driver that is Windows XP and Mac OS X compatible. Similar to the Matrix X mixer, the Matrix K features a mic/line/guitar XLR combo input with 48-volt phantom power, an 1/8-inch stereo TRS line input, a two-channel balanced 1/4-inch TRS line output and two TRS headphone outputs (1/4-inch and 1/8-inch). All inputs and outputs have independent volume controls.
The Matrix K Series is expected to ship in August 2006.
