Composer Dan Alvarez Purchases Audient Centro Master Section

UK-based manufacturer Audient announces that Emmy Award winning composer/producer Dan Alvarez (pictured) purchased the first Centro Master Section to be sold in the U.S. Centro is a stand-alone master section for the DAW-centered studio, bringing together monitoring and routing of analog and digital sources, cue mixing and talkback in one package.

Alvarez is one half of Musaic, a production team that creates music and sound design solutions for radio and television commercials, feature and industrial films, network television series and game audio. Alvarez’s studio is based around a Mac G5 running Apple Computer’s Logic Pro, along with a pair of Dynaudio BM 6A monitors.

“The Audient is just fabulous,” Alvarez says. “I was trawling for opinions on these kinds of devices on the forums, and read a posting about it on gearslutz.com. After downloading the manual from the Audient Website, I found it had the feature set I needed.

“One of the main reasons I chose it was the direct record input to cue [feature], and the wealth of inputs in general. It’s nice to be able to control the performer’s level to their headphone mix at the touch of a knob without affecting my control room mix. The built-in talkback mic was a huge plus, too. It’s also a bit easier on the wallet than the other two I was considering.”
