Crown, JBL Debut DSP Presets for XTi Series Amplifiers

At the 2008 Musikmesse/Prolight+Sound show in Frankfurt, Germany, JBL and Crown International introduced 44 new JBL loudspeaker presets that are specifically tailored for use with Crown’s XTi Series of power amplifiers (pictured). The System Architect device files will comprise six presets for JBL’s JRX Series loudspeakers, six for MRX, 19 for SRX and 13 for VRX. The files can be downloaded for free from both Crown’s and JBL’s Websites.

The XTi Series is equipped with Crown’s switch-mode power supply, which allows all three models—including the XTi 4000, providing 1,200 watts per channel (4 ohms)—to operate on a 15-amp plug. DSP is also integrated into each of the amplifiers, providing users with all the tools necessary to set up their systems. The line further provides computer connectivity via USB, enabling the amplifiers to be set up and controlled/monitored via a PC running Harman Pro HiQnet System Architect software (downloadable from http://hiqnet.harmanpro.com). Built-in DSP allows users to set crossover points, graphic EQ, a limiter, and delay for time-aligning loudspeakers.
