Digital Media Academy Adds Stanford University

Digital Media Academy, a summer camp for children (7-13), teens (13-18) and adults, will be offered at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., from June 22-August 21. DMA will also offer summer 2009 programs at the University of Chicago, Harvard (Boston), George Washington University (Washington, D.C.), Brown (Providence, R.I.), Dartmouth (Hanover, N.H.) and several University of California campuses.

Attendees can learn the latest digital art and media techniques from top instructors in a project-based environment using state-of-the-art equipment. The five-day courses can be taken individually or combined for multi-week certifications. At DMA, children will be taught how to design and create videogames, movies and Websites.

New for 2009, DMA has partnered with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus to offer a music and video production course. Adults can take professional level courses in film, Web design, photography, animation and more.

DMA is offering a discount off each 2009 course to anyone who registers by December 22, 2008. In addition, for any household that registers for three or more courses, DMA will donate a full scholarship to that household’s local Boys and Girls Club or other non-profit. Everyone who registers will be entered into a raffle to be held on December 22, 2008 for a 20-inch iMac and other gifts.
