UK-based systems integrator dB Broadcast has ordered three MSD600M++ surround sound audio meters from DK-Technologies. The units are destined for installation in a new TV station built by db Broadcast Amman, Jordan.
The new station will be Jordan’s first independent TV channel when it launches in 2006. Initially it will consist of one channel broadcasting a mixture of entertainment and regional and international news on a 24-hour basis. The facility will contain three studios—two for general entertainment programs and one for news, weather and panel discussion programs, as well as an integrated control room and voiceover booth and a newsroom with capacity for 30 journalists.
DK-Technologies’ MSD600M++ meters will be used in conjunction with Calrec broadcast consoles, enabling station engineers to monitor audio content in both stereo and surround sound. The modular, multi-channel meters accept up to 32 input channels and have four configurable input and output slots. Available modules include analogue, AES3, SD-SDI and HD formats.
