EditShare Adds Apple Final Cut Pro Project Sharing Capabilities

EditShare announced the addition of Apple Final Cut Pro (FCP) Project Sharing capabilities to its product family. Deployed first for Avid systems and editors, the EditShare Project Sharing technology enables multiple editors to work on the same project simultaneously. The company states that EditShare is the only collaborative work-flow and shared storage solution to offer project sharing for Apple FCP and Avid editing systems.

EditShare Project Sharing obviates the need to import XML files and duplicate FCP project files. As with all EditShare systems, the rights management and rules-driven architecture allow administrators to pre-define user access and prevent overwrites.

The EditShare Project Sharing functionality for Apple FCP will ship as part of the EditShare Version 5 standard feature set in the third quarter of 2007. The company states that existing EditShare V. 5 customers will be provided an update with the new Apple FCP Project Sharing feature free of charge.
