RSPE Audio Solutions, Digidesign and Bennett Group’s HD/LA have joined forces to present “End to End,” a two-day event showcasing the latest in digital audio technology for audio engineers, post-production supervisors, live sound mixers and artists. It will be held Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17 at the Bennett Group’s offices and RSPE’s new Santa Monica offices and demo studios in West Los Angeles.
“End to End” will provide attendees with real-world concert recording and studio environment surround mixing demonstrations beginning with a recording session of a live band and culminating in a mixing session. Mixer Gary Lux, senior vice president of Music Development and Audio Production for Bennett Music, will be behind the board. Once the mix is completed, the track will be compressed into an AAC stream and made available to all attendees via Digidesign’s online delivery system.
The two-day workshop also marks the launch of RSPE’s satellite sales office based at Bennett’s West Los Angeles multimedia facilities. The satellite location represents a unique expansion for RSPE, which is headquartered in Universal City at 4130 Cahuenga Blvd. The leading retail resource for Digidesign’s audio product lines, RSPE also provides full-service studio integration operations and hands-on training services.
Bennett’s Lux is an award-winning 30-year music industry professional and specialist in 5.1 surround mixing. Lux’s credits range from DVD and Dual Disc music mixes for Rob Thomas’ “Something to Be” and Ben Harper and the Blind Boys of Alabama’s “Live at the Apollo” (which was a 2005 Surround Music Award winner for Best Concert Video) to Janet Jackson’s “From Janet to Damita Jo” and Usher’s “8701.” In addition, Lux has two Emmy Award nominations for his work with The Jacksons and Frank Sinatra.
