Fairlight reports the installation of four new Constellation mixing consoles in facilities in France and Belgium.
One Constellation has been installed in France 3 television in Orleans, with a second one on the way. “The mixing capabilities were paramount because France 3 looked at it as a mixer with editing capabilities rather than an editor with controller,” says Denis Derigent of Fairlight France. “They also liked it because it integrated seamlessly with their new network. Moreover, once they’d seen Pyxis, it confirmed their decision to get rid of tape. They’ll use Pyxis to stream OMF files and the compatibility with other file formats will allow them to work any way they want.”
Francais Des Images, a facility that produces TV shows and long form programming in addition to advertising work, recently upgraded from a Fairlight MFX to a Constellation.
In Belgium, Option Studios, which specializes in advertising and DVD work, also upgraded from an MFX Plus to a Constellation.
