Just in time for the holidays, Sanrio Inc. has announced the latest collection from their ever-present brand of feline-adorned accessories—a special assortment of Hello Kitty guitars and musical accessories.
The Squier-branded guitars, which draw upon classic Fender brand designs, offer an affordable, everyday instrument that is suitable for beginning guitarists and experienced musicians alike. Squier brand Hello Kitty instruments include the Squier Affinity Stratocaster (available in pink or black finishes, with a custom Hello Kitty pickguard) and a special black finished Squire Bass featuring HK’s sidekick, Badtz Maru. The Hello Kitty guitars include a single bridge-position humbucker pickup, a 1960s-style large headstock, maple neck with pink inlaid fret markers and a Hello Kitty logo on the guitars back side.
Fender also plans to create a line of co-branded accessories including Hello Kitty guitar picks, straps, soft cases and a portable battery powered Hello Kitty amplifier. The Hello Kitty guitars will range in price from $200 to $300 and are shipping now.
Fender’s Custom Shop will also produce a special, limited run of Hello Kitty custom guitars. These guitars will incorporate classic Hello Kitty design elements on a custom built body, featuring any elements the musician desires. These unique guitars can be built in a variety of ways with the price point determined by design and materials utilized.
