FirstCom Music, a provider of music services, recently announced the upcoming release of Galerie’s “The Magic of Roger Roger,” a French twist on traditional swing music. “This special release dips into the classic era of retro-kitsch,” says Ken Nelson, VP/executive producer for FirstCom Music. “The many different orchestral styles represented in this collection paint brilliant musical pictures that are helpful to music users.
The smaller combos capture a vintage 1960s jazz sound. The four-disc collection embraces vaudeville comedy, with “Just a Smile,” swings with the big band in Cityroma, captures the seduction and glamour of Hollywood with “Pour Vous Madame” and brings to life the world through the eyes of the post-war generation in “Newsreel/Actualities.”
