The Hollywood Edge has released new sound effects collections representing the latest work of two of Europe’s most talented sound designers. Eilam Hoffman Sound Effects Collection and Creaks and Squeaks (from sound designer Kamen Atanasov) are high quality CD/DVD collections comprising a plethora of unique sound elements suitable for productions of all types.
Hoffman is a London-based sound designer whose work has been featured in films, television shows, animated programs, radio and games. His collection, available exclusively through The Hollywood Edge, includes 180 sound effects encompassing everything from horror, suspense and science fiction to interior and exterior atmospherics, water, animals, transportation and machinery.
Creaks and Squeaks represents the latest work of Atanasov, creator of the Musical Accents, Sound Designer Tool Kit 2 and The Edge Edition 3 collections for The Hollywood Edge. The new thematic collection includes more than 700 creaking and squeaking sounds, including beds, doors and floors of all description. “They were recorded in the dustiest and most obscure places I have ever been,” says Atanasov. “Now, there is no need to find a quiet place and old rusty objects to record sounds for your projects—we have it all right here.”
Sounds for each new DVD collection, available as Broadcast WAV files, were recorded at 24-bit/96kHz resolution. Elements were edited in Pro Tools and processed using a variety of techniques and algorithms, including FM synthesis, TAU morphing/cross synthesis, impulse response, wavetable, sampling, additive synthesis, granular synthesis and physical modeling.
