Producer/songwriter Steve Morales (Enrique Iglesias, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears) has added a Digidesign D-Control to his recording facility in Miami. Working with GC Pro account manager Billy Walker, Morales has created a full-fledged Digidesign ICON recording/production system with his new D-Control, along with his Pro Tools|HD Accel rig. The studio, coincidentally, is called Icon Sound.
“The D-Control, along with high quality summing busses like the API 8200, has completely changed the way I work,” says Morales. “I use the D-Control the way a musician plays a keyboard, with nothing stopping my creative process. All of my analog outboard gear is instantly accessible, with recall and automation being handled by Pro Tools, so the workflow is incredibly fast, and nothing interrupts the creativity of the session.”
Digidesign’s ICON combines the D-Control, a large-format tactile work surface, with Pro Tools, allowing professionals to accomplish every aspect of a project within a single environment, including recording, editing, mixing and processing for an unmatched degree of workflow efficiency.
