DiscLive Inc., the live recording unit of Immediatek, Inc., announced that it will launch the first ever DiscLive Rock-N-Rip Tour. The initial tour will focus mainly on the East coast of the US, and will run throughout August, starting July 31 in Ithaca, NY. DiscLive will be producing and distributing live discs on each stop of the tour, starting Aug. 6 in Raleigh, NC.

Featured bands are Adema, who were certified gold for their 2002 self-titled release; Revelation Theory, an emerging hard rock band based in New York who will be releasing their highly anticipated debut album Truth is Currency, in September, and rock road veterans, Alston, who recently released their own debut album, Voodoo for Fun and Profit.

Zach Bair, CEO and President of DiscLive, said that Steven Ferraro from Idol Roc Entertainment, Revelation Theory’s production/management company, first approached him about doing something with the band earlier in the spring.

“I was hanging out at EdgeFest, the Dallas modern rock festival held
each year by KDGE 102.1 ‘The Edge,’ our local Clear Channel (CCU)
affiliate, while DiscLive was recording many of the bands for a
compilation CD of the event,” said Bair. “I had never seen
Revelation Theory, and was very impressed to learn that they were the
only unsigned band at the time that had been invited to play
EdgeFest. Their managers realized DiscLive was recording, and
approached me about capturing their set. I was immediately impressed
with their professionalism and their organized grassroots approach to
marketing the band, and subsequently decided we would try out a new
concept with them. The result is the ‘ DiscLive Rock-n-Rip Tour,’
where we will be recording each night of the tour and releasing a
very special live CD of each of the performances.”

Bair also went on to explain how this tour breaks new ground for
DiscLive. “Previously, DiscLive has worked with established acts with
a known following. In this case, we are taking acts that we believe
have a real shot at charting, and investing our time and resources
and will grow with them as their partner — simultaneously creating a
new revenue stream for the artists. The discs we will be producing
on these tour dates will become true collectors items for some very
lucky fans. In the case of Revelation Theory, who recently finished
their debut album with Grammy award winning producer Paul Ebersold (3
Doors Down, Saliva), which will be released in late September through
Another Century/EMI, fans will have a CD with live versions of the
new material before the album even hits stores!”

DiscLive Rock-n-Rip tour CDs will be made available for pre-sales
from www.disclive.com, and from the bands’ websites, and fans may purchase the CDs onsite at each tour stop.
