In this time of economic uncertainty, recording industry members united for an afternoon of fun, competing for pro-audio gear while benefiting local children’s charity Sound Art LA. More than 100 players and spectators from across the recording industry came out to place their bets at the Village Recorder in West LA in an event that invited everyone from the audio industry to mingle, network and win gear from TELEFUNKEN,

Audio Technica, Bricasti, Summit, SSL and many others. Final table winner Joe Peluso from the Record Plant took home his choice of all the prizes, the TELEFUNKEN Ela M 251 mic.

Dave Reitzas, who hosted the event was amazed with the outcome, “The goal of putting together this poker tournament was to find an excuse to bring all members of our recording industry closer together – to see old friends and make new ones. We reached that goal and as a bonus we were able to raise money for a great charity. I can’t thank the sponsors and volunteers enough for their generosity in making this a truly spectacular day.”

Karen Margroff Dunn, of KMD Productions, was thrilled with the first-ever RIPT, “We can’t wait to do this again next year. Everyone had a great time and manufacturers were eager to support us, for which we are grateful. This day was exactly what we had hoped for. Audio professionals uniting for a good cause and having a great time in the process.”
