Legendary solo artist Johnny Rivers recently mastered new tracks at Bernie Grundman Mastering for Secret Agent Man: The Ultimate Johnny Rivers Anthology 1964–2006. The album is slated for release in September and is a joint project between Rivers’ Soul City label and the Shout! Factory label.
For the compilation, Rivers cut new versions of the Muddy Waters classic “Rollin’ Stone” and Chuck Berry’s “Let It Rock” at guitarist/producer Doug Hamblin’s Los Angeles studio, The Dugout. The new tracks are included along with many of Rivers’ hits, which span four decades.
