M1 Distribution Unveils Inward Connections Magnum Preamp

MM1 Distribution announces the release of the Inward Connections Magnum 500 Series preamp ($950), which is available through select dealers worldwide and exclusively in the U.S. through Vintage King Audio. The company states that the Magnum replaces Inward Connections’ MPD-500 mic preamp, which has been discontinued.

Features include three highpass filter settings (70/100/200 Hz), separate input and output gain for tonal variation, +48VDC phantom power switch, a phase reverse switch, and hi-Z line input ¼-inch phone jack for guitars, keyboards and low level instruments.

Steve Firlotte of Inward Connections says he began to experiment with Magnum’s design when Ryan McGuire, M1 Distribution’s director of sales and business development, suggested that he build upon the foundation of the MPD-500 for a newer, multi-faceted 500 Series unit.

“Steve and I initially spoke about adding some more vibe and warmth to the MPD-500 and he blew me away with this new version,” says McGuire. “The Magnum uses the new VF-600 discrete amp block instead of the standard SPA-690, and compared to the MPD-500, has a much warmer sounding response. It’s become my go-to recommendation when a client asks for a versatile 500 Series preamp with something different to offer.”

The Magnum fits standard 500 series slot configurations, mechanically and electronically. For more information, visit M1 Distribution’s Website.
