Jens Moeller at his Midas Verona
Jens Moeller, MI and Concert Sound sales representative for ASCON Trading (the Danish distributor for EV, Dynacord, Midas and Klark Teknik), recently purchased a Midas Verona 400 console for his Copenhagen home studio. Jens and his musical partner Peter Alfred form the electronic duo Transport and are currently in the process of putting together their first album.
Moeller had to sell most of his furniture to make room for the Midas, and because he lives on the fourth floor, had to call in a few favors just to get it up the stairs. “It was a fair amount of effort, but definitely worth the trouble!” he says.
Jens first encountered Midas while working with Ascon last year, deciding on a Verona after realizing he needed more channels that what the Venice offered. “The difference was amazing,” recounted Jens. “The first thing I noticed was that all the noise had disappeared. Then I started listening to some of my favourite albums, and they all sounded completely different. The sound was far more transparent, and I even started hearing things on these albums that I know so well that I had never noticed before. Today all my gear is more or less permanently hooked up to the Verona so I can benefit from the great-sounding preamps and EQs, with the result that it is now so much easier for us to work with our sound.”
