ModernBeats has launched a Beat Contest offering $2,000 in cash prizes, plus $875 in music gear prizes for its winners. The company will award a grand prize to the best sounding, most original, most professionally produced hip hop beat or song. Entrants must submit one original song that they created using one or more ModernBeats Soundset/Loopset libraries.
The last day to enter the contest is July 1, 2007. The Top 10 contestants will be featured on ModernBeats’ Website. Music genres accepted for the contest include hip hop, urban, bounce, crunk, Dirty South, R&B, and pop with a hip hop edge.
One grand prize winner is offered $1,000, Beyerdynamic DT250-80 headphones, a Total AirHead headphone amp and a coupon for $200 off purchases from Akai, Numark or Alesis. One second place winner is offered $500, Sennheiser HD280 headphones and a Total AirHead headphone amp.
