Popular Science magazine recognized the Moog Guitar with a 2008 “Best of What’s New” award. The Moog Guitar was selected in the Recreation category, competing against thousands of new products reviewed by the magazine’s editors. To win, a product must represent a significant step forward in its category, according to Popular Science editor-in-chief Mark Jannot.

“For 21 years, Popular Science’s Best of What’s New awards have honored the innovations that make a positive impact on life today and change our views of the future,” Jannot says. “Our editors evaluate thousands of products each year to develop this thoughtful list; there’s no higher accolade Popular Science can give.”

Only 100 “Best of What’s New” award winners were chosen in 11 categories.
